If you hold four cards toward a Royal Flush (e.g., A♠ K♠ Q♠ J♠ with one non-spade), it is mathematically correct to break even a made Straight or Flush to draw for the Royal — because the 800× multiplier on haka4 justifies the risk. This is the one exception to the "never break a winning hand" rule, and it applies only when you are one card away from the Royal Flush.

The Joker wild card is the most powerful card in Bola Tangkas and should almost never be discarded. If you receive the Joker, keep it and build around it. Assess whether it completes a Four of a Kind, Straight Flush, or Full House from your other six cards, and hold the combination that maximises the Joker's contribution to a high-ranked hand.
